Looking for tri-shorts that I can wear for an iron distance race...was considering changing into bike shorts after the swim, but I don't how long the lines will be to get into the changing tents and I'll need every spare second if I want to get in before my goal time. What are you guys wearing for your long rides out there?

De Soto Riviera trishorts (with the smaller version of their 400 mile pad)...and lots of chamois creme (I use Desitin Creamy, available at any drugstore).

I've worn Zoot Ultra Tri Shorts and Orca 226 shorts for HIMs. Once forgot any chamois cream with the Zoots at B2B and didn't chafe (surprised me)

I'm hooked on the Orca 226 shorts now and have worn them for IMs and century rides as well as all the training for them without an issue.

I've used the De Soto Forza tri shorts.  The version with four pockets is awesome if you need to bring along your own nutrition.  Pockets are long enough for a tube of shock blocks which I prefer over gels.

+1 on DeSoto Forza, they are awesome!  I used to get horrible saddle sores, but never again since I switched to these.

I'll third the DeSoto Forza 4-pocket ones, and with great enthusiasm!

The qualifier on those is if you need (or might be nervous without) significant padding.  The Forza model is minimally padded, as in I don't even know it's there.  (Is it??)  But if padding really doesn't matter, then they can't be beat - for overall comfort and optimal low-profile storage.

I have a Pearl Izumi tri short and jersey combo and a Pearl tri suit.

I use them to train and in events all the time with no issues.

Just bought a pair of De Soto Riviera tri shorts based on the recommendations on this board.  Used them for  3.5 hr ride with no problems.  Pretty tight in the leg which is great but took a little while to get used to.

Looking to try them on my next 100 mi ride.

Where did you purchase them from? Anybody find a deal better than $55?
