Swim
Comments: I followed Matt West, and it was a nice easy swim. I think I actually was #2 OA in the swim, since the times for the #1 and #2 person are like 25 seconds. That must be an error. We went out in the second wave, but NO ONE passed us on the swim, and we were a full minute ahead of the next folks, and we passed most of the folks in the Olympic. What would you do differently?: Race Matt more. But not much else. It was nice and not too hard. Transition 1
Comments: I was relatively fast, then I got on the bike and the new shoes make it hard to strap on. I wasted time as I passed a few people running and jumping on my bike, then meandered all over the course trying to get my feet in my shoes. A woman yelled at me. She was fast, so it took a 1/4 lap to overtake her again. I'm not used to be in traffic when putting on my shoes. What would you do differently?: Perhaps put some lubricant on the mouth of the shoes? Does this work? Can this ruin my bike shoes? Bike
Transition 2
Comments: I got off 20 yards before the dismount line and ran. I was confused due to lack of practice. Run
Comments: I am a slow runner, but the lack of hills helped me. I am likely to be able to go much faster. I was really going pretty fast at the end. Post race
Warm down: Got changed, snuck into the bike area, and left ASAP. I wish they had done awards faster, because I wanted a plaque. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of run practice. Last updated: 2012-09-20 12:00 AM

Got there early!
But had to sign up. I didn't pre-register. It was a bit more messy, and expensive. Ugh.
Chatted. Clumsily set up transition.
I do not like this company's transition set-up. However, getting there "early" did make it better.
