Subject: long bike rides

Just caught the "tri-bug" this summer and completed the Treadman Duathlon, learning to swim started this past week.  My question is when next spring rolls around are there any groups of tri riders on this forum that organize or mention doing some small group long bike rides?  Ones that are tri bike friendly?

I saw the twin cities cycling club does some century rides but I've heard some group rides don't allow tri bikes.  Just curious because I'd like to buy and tri bike and do some small group long rides.  Thanks,

TCMC does ride all of which are "tri friendly." We had 3 major supported ones last year and many smaller self supported, but organized weekly ones. The board is meeting shortly, but I suspect we'll do the same major ones: Liberty preview, Chisago Preview, and the late summer "south of the river" ride. tcmultisportsclub.com

 GROUP BIKE

Come ride on some of the best terrain in the Twin Cities!  All levels are welcome.  Road bikes are preferred since we are riding in large groups.  You can use your tri-bike, but please do not drop down into the aero position.  Safety first please. There are two groups that depart.  A tough, road race style “A” group and a more casual “B” group.  The “B” group has a no drop policy.

Check out the link below for details.  There are two locations that we start from depending on where we will be riding.  We would love to see more people out there, so please come out for a ride!  I promise you’ll get in a very solid workout!!

There are 4 supported Time Trials throughout the summer as well.  Dates are marked on the website.  They are included in the cost of the $5 annual fee.

White Bear Lake.  Ride with a friend that lives in Lino all the time.  Group rides are done on road bikes, but once tri season gets into full swing we do 'tri bike friendly' group rides with fellow tri folks on TT bikes.
