Got up and had a bagel and some coffee, and made the 1hr drive to the race site.

I was a pretty good swim for me. I know that I had TERRIBLE FORM, and probably cost myself some time being sloppy.
What would you do differently?:

Really try and take what I have learned from the pool and use it in the open water.

swkbkrun, you noted in your report that the water was 65°F. Did the race organizers announce that data? The water seemed VERY cold to me. I've been swimming in Lake Washington, Lake Meridian, and Angle Lake this Spring and hadn't felt anything as cold as Deep Lake.
