An... know how to download this to an Ipod touch?
I have a mac though not sure what version of safari. as long as you have safari version 5 or under: hit option-command-A on your keyboard go through all the different file trees until you see a rather large file that should be still loading. i think it is in the folder "other" with a .mp4 file extension you should be able to double click to download. |

Compared to other telecasts in the past I was disappointed. The pro segment in the beginning was pretty good but I hate the one on one interviews with them saying the same cliches that we have heard before. I would.have liked to see the cameras follow them more in training. To be fair its the same in the coverage of the superbowl pregame. And though I like to.see what happens on the pro race, I enjoy the ag stories better and this year it was thin..uld have liked to.know more about the women with pancreatic and brain cancer , and about some of those who were at the end saying they were an ironman....but that's just me. |

Honestly, the only place that I have seen to archive live Ironman coverage is Universal Sports, and they have vastly changed their business structure. |

I finally saw it last night on NBC sports, I enjoyed how they geared it more to the PRO race but didnt like how they didnt focus so much on the battle for 2nd place in the mens, and Rhinny and leanda's battle not letting Rhinny pass and than making a chamionship move form there......I did feel they tried to cram in the age groupers in the end.....I think if they would of put in some age gouper stories through out the program it would of flowed better, but I enjoyed none the less. |

I agree with a lot of this. Particularly the Rinny/Cave battle... I wanted to see that. I think they could have easily added another full hour of coverage and not lost any quality or the audience.
Lastly - I kinda wish they would have geared parts of the production to the novice/non-triathlete. *I* know what drafting is and what the voice-over guy means when he says that "whatshername got a little to close to one of the male riders", but the average viewer probably has no idea what the heck that was about and may feel like they may as well have been watching Cricket (which makes sense to nobody, anywhere, ever. Fact. And "wicket" is a completely fictitious word.). I think interspersing little "Triathlon 101" segments would have been great (kinda like the "a marathon is all about the numbers" segment). After all, a sport is only fun to watch if it makes sense.

I thought I read on the Quadrathon blog that NBC extended the run time of the show because they originally intended there to be a portion of the program devoted to Lance Armstrong. This was also why the program was shown so much earlier this year than in previous years. When Lance's plans, uh, changed, NBC was forced to change theirs, and I'm guessing this is why the focus of the show was not what we are used to. Still enjoyed the program, though. |
