In Army ROTC we would practice shooting at the National Guard range at 6am once a week.  We would start shooting the M16 in the prone position and I fell asleep a couple of times before we had even locked and loaded the weapons.  I fell asleep so soundly that the Cadet officer had to get down and yell right to my face "lock and load!".  The rest of the cadets thought it was so hillarious that the "Lock and Load" nickname stuck.  It's funny since now I'll wake up at 4:30am to train and think nothing of it.

Needless to say I really didn't get that much sleep in college!

A friend of mine in middle school had the AOL (yeah...nice right) screen name "Leegooboo" and I thought "Leegoocrap" would be a great way to make fun of him.

New Glarus Spotted Cow is my favorite WI beer - I think I was drinking one when I joined BT

I mostly feel like a cow when I'm trying to run

I grew up on a dairy farm and I like spotted cows too

During my IM - my entire family wore "Team Spotted Cow" t-shirts

Has nothing to do with triathlon - I've been using it for years.  I'm a Texas Longhorn fan and an avid fisherman.

I used to be an inside sales person and was good at it. My sales manager nicknamed me "the determined german" since I had just moved from Germany to Chicago. I always try to use "determinedgerman" but it most cases its too long and "determined" by itself looks lame so I decided to make it look a little different ...

I am a twin, and my last name...yes LAST name is Brett, so everyone used to say "Oh, you must be one of the Brett boys".  Also, I'm one of 5 kids and George Brett (for obvious reasons) was my favorite player growing up.

Back in ~1994 when internet was in it's toddler uniform I got an e-mail account with hotmail.

Put in my first name, last name and year of birth.

Hotmail suggested:

TIMF79

(First Name

Last Name Initial

Year of birth (last two digits)).

Since this name is barely taken I kept using it since then (variations include throwing in my middle name initial (TIMRF79) or full year of birth (TIMF1979)).

At least I got more creative 2 years ago with a new GamerTag (guess I should start using that in Forums as well):

I'm half Indian (er Native American) and my friends growing up use to call me Tonto.  Worked with a client about 10 years ago that gave everyone nick names and I told him about Tonto growing up and he spit out "you are now the one called Donto". It was so obvious once he said it I had to laugh and my biz partner always calls me by that now.
