Swim
Comments: Not sure why my swim time was so slow. I think I must have been hoolding back a bit, knowing that the bike and run would be tough. What would you do differently?: Swim faster! Transition 1
Comments: As usual, super slow in T1. This cost me 2nd place in my AG. What would you do differently?: Practice the transitions and got on the bike faster. Bike
Comments: Major crosswinda and headwind of up to 30 mph. This was my strongest bike yet, considering the wind. What would you do differently?: Need a better hydration set up. Transition 2
Comments: Again, slow in transition. Rocky dismount so I kept my shoes on. What would you do differently?: Practice T1 and T2 more. Run
Comments: Might have been the run of my lifetime. Despite the tough off road and technical course, turned in a blistering 1:40 to come in just under 5 hours. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Left it all on the course. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Course conditions are not ideal for an HIM. They should only do international at this event. Would be much faster on a well-groomed course. Event comments: This race is better suited for the casual triathlete or someone who just wants to finish. They will never draw elite athletes with this type of course and the conditions.
