Man, ya gotta love this:

Maybe we should recruit her to the BT boards?! ;-)

That's just awe-inspiring. Bet she could smoke me on the run, too.

Awesome story. I really hope that's me someday. A side note - look at the photo. Is she wearing two different shoes on the bike, or am I losing it?

Very cool!

I saw the two different shoes, too. I wonder if it has to do with the injury she mentioned.

That means my parents (in their 50s) no longer have the "I'm getting too old" and "people don't start working out in their mid 50s" excuse to not work out. My dad is at least swimming with me once a week. I sent him the link. Now we just gotta get my mom into it...

That is too cool.  I can only hope to be like that when I'm old.  The shoe is probably from the injury.  It looks like she has a normal cycling shoe on her right foot and a running shoe on the left, which was the injured leg.

Did anyone else catch this in the article:

"Almost every day she spends up to three hours riding, biking or walking"

So what's the difference between riding and biking?

That is awesome. I hope I am like that at 50, let alone at almost 90!!

SWEET!

I hope I am racing when I am that old... cause if I am... I might actually get a stinking medal for placing in my age group.

i'm sending this to my 65 year young mom! she's done one tri, and is doing danskin in a couple weeks with me, my aunt (who is turning 60), and my two cousins. my mom is always saying 'my mom never did stuff like this! i'm 65! what's wrong with baking cookies and reading stories with the grandkids?' she never bakes cookies, mind you! hee hee. i keep telling her 60 is the new 40. if 88 is the new 60, then she's still got lots of years of racing ahead of her!
