Subject: Age Group National Qualifying in Mauwaukee - water temp?

Is this race gonna be wetsuit legal?

 

Do most of the participants use a wetsuit.  I never have used a wetsuit, but most of my races are at the sprint distance anyway.

Get one.  Lake Michigan is a crap shoot.  Could be 54 or it could be 70.  Either way, it will be legal.

I agree with the reply, get a wetsuit.  From growing up on the lake, you never know what the temp is going to be, but I can almost promise you without a doubt it will be wetsuit legal.

The prevailing winds make the water temperatures on the west coast of Lake Michigan (assuming the race is in Lake Michigan) colder than the east coast. I suspect the water will not be warm.
