Timex $10 Battery Replacement Help

Spinning off the Change my battery thread, I sent an email to Timex asking about the service and I received this reply:

"I am sorry about the problem with your watch.  You can send the watch in to the address below and we will be happy to repair or replace it for you.  If your watch is in warranty, less than one year old, the cost for repair or replacement is $8.00 to cover handling and return shipping.  If the watch is out of warranty, more than one year old, the cost for repair or replacement is up to one half the suggested retail price of the watch."

Didn't mention anything about replacing the battery and my watch is several years old.

For those of you who use this service how do you do so?
