Thanks! Yeah, the conversion rate on the dollar in Japan is pretty good right now. But obviously if stuff costs a lot, then that is cancelled out. Whereas the pound to dollar conversion is not so great right now. So if we go to Spain, the conversion won't be great, but stuff will be cheaper. So yeah, it's a wash. Ha! Not sure how I'll do not being able to communicate with people. Hum.

If you try to pay with Pounds in Spain you will have a hard time ...

Guess I miss read the monetary sign on the hotel fees posted on the website.

Don't forget you could race a HIM there

Nope. No way. All of our trips have been for a race. Which means they are LAME. We stay long enough to check-in, then the race, and the day after. AKA: not drinking because of the race coming up, or too tired to drink. Ha! Yeah, we need a pleasure vacation.

Usually when a foreign web site does the automatic conversion to English, they assume you are British.  Fortunately, the Euro conversion is MUCH better.  Spain would for sure be cheaper.

But Japan would be SUCH a cool experience!  Worth the effort.     Also, it's easier to get to Spain so the likelihood you'd get back there in the future is much higher.  And, you can do Spain and Italy in one trip!

Ah, that makes sense! I could swear I saw the pound sign. Guess I did!

See, we originally ruled out Japan because we thought the travel time would be a lot more. But the trip to Majorca was going to be 20 hours with lay over's and the trip to Japan would be 13 hours, direct.
