The challenge has begun! Post your crossfit workouts here in whatever manner you completed them. (As rx'd, scaled, yoru own version, men's journal version, etc...)

Also, if you got the workout from somewhere other than the main crossfit site, please post your source so others can find it too!

Rx'ed

Three rounds for time of:
Row 500 meters
Bodyweight benchpress 21 reps

Run 400 meters each round for rowing substitution.

Mine:

Usual CF Warm-up

3x
400m run
31x55-45-45lb BP (I'm not even up to half my weight for that many reps yet!)

After the workout, I tried a hanging pull-up to measure my progress. I can get almost half way! Can't wait to really do a pull-up!

Edit: I forgot... the core part of the workout was about 16 min.

I feel like if we're really gonna do this, we need to start posting pics of people doing badass things.

My contribution is our very own Trixie doing something that inspires the hell out of me: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/photos/show-album.asp?albumid=2678&photoid=14942

Same workout, but I remebered it being four rounds. Oh well.

My version:
400m run
21 pushups

Time 13:38

This was my first full crossfit workout, and I have to say it was tough, but I felt good for about an hour afterwards. It was after my 1 hour tempo bike ride. Now my chest is starting to get really sore! This is why I decided to start with just 2x/week.

I'll have to take some badass photos of myself to play along!

Rx'ed: Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

Me: 65-85-105-115-135-145-150

Had no idea what I could do, so I started excessively low, which may have affected my max. Also, quads are still pretty ripped up from Tuesday. I am pretty pleased with my result however.

So what was your 5K time?

I'm planning the deadlift WOD for today or tomorrow for my 2nd CF workout this week. I have a "bad back", so am just going to use a broomstick. I've been looking forward to adding more strenght work for my back, but not at the expense of injury. I figure a broomstick will help with form, and still give me some quad/low back exercise. Just don't call me a wimp, OK?

Five rounds for max reps of:
Body weight bench press; 125lbs @ 12, 13, 12, 12, & 10 reps
Pull-ups; Body weight @ 10, 10, 9, 9, 9

I plan to do the dead lift WOD this week - it's one of my favorites.

aloha doc:

my 5k time was 23:04......  and do be careful with the deadlift.  form is probably the most important for this lift if using any weight than any other of the olympic lifts.  the broomstick is a great tool for developing this exercise as well as the front and overhead squats.  they're also great for the stabilizing core muscles.  you'll be hooked on the crossfit philosophy of fitness training and diet if you really work at it.

Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

Me: broomstick x 5
Cat-cat-cat-cat-cat-cat-cat

Cat weighs 15 pounds. I couldn't scare out the second cat to try 30 pounds, but 15 pounds was good for me. I need to bring the weakest part of me along without getting hurt. I'm sure my legs could handle at least 10x more weight, but the low back gets special treatment. NExt time I do this WO, I'll go to the gym and try and empty weight bar after a warmup.

Thanks for the inspiration, you guys all rock!

And did you all notice that CF is now an option on the "sports" dropdown for training logs?

Thanks maramdaddy & ron!

The cat is interesting.  You'll begin to worry me if you use your cat for those kettlebell swings.

Re the sports drop down, I requested they add it about 2 weeks ago.  :-)
