Subject: Daddy's toolbox

My sister just had a baby and now it is time for my BIL's birthday. He never wants us to get him anything but I thought it might be kinda fun to make him a special Daddy's toolbox full of the most useful baby supplies. It has been several years since I've had an infant around the house so I'm having trouble remembering what we couldn't live without when our kids were infants. Any suggestions?

They did not have a big shower or anything because this baby was a little unexpected. My sis just turned 43 and her boys are 12 & 9 yr old twin boys. She thought her baby days long gone! The new baby is a little girl .

This might be timely for some others on BT too!

My MIL got me a backpack style diaper bag and filled it up with burp cloths, some pacifiers, wipes, those little bags to put dirty diapers in when your out, a changing mat, a small stuffed animal, and some diaper rash cream.

I know you were thinking of baby supplies, but since it is a "toolbox" you could add one of those tiny philliPs head screwdrivers and lots of AA and AAA batteries. The little screwdriver is the only one I keep in my kitchen because it works to remove the battery covers on all of the toys.

how about practical stuff -
cabinet locks/magnets
plug covers or the ones that slide to the side
extra pacifer
bubbles - easy entertainment never goes bad
ear plugs?
book on baby sign language - don't need to teach it all but some basics (more, drink etc) are easily taught and come in very handy!
