Do you mount your disc cover before you drive to the race or at the race site? Im afraid of damaging it as i typically put my bike in my car on its side.

I put mine on before. i like to ride it a time or two before the race. i can't imagine messing with it on race morning.

I also put my bike in the back of the car and have never had any issues.

When my wife as using her disc cover, I mounted it on the wheel the day before, and had her go out for a short ride, just to make sure everything was perfect. Then we used her training wheel on the bike if we had to put the bike on the roof. Most of the time, the bike will be in the car though, so we can keep the cover on.

I mount it a day or two before and have no problems with it in the back of the car.  Just make sure not to sit anything heavy on it or have anything nearby that could shift and fall on it.

I mount mine beforehand. I've never had any issues and dont really take any specific precautions with it aside from the fact that I put the wheels on top of the bike with an old towel between them.

Would you feel safe having the bike on a rack to drive to the race or would you switch out wheels? My options are wheel with cover or HED3 on the back of my car.

My cover hasn't come off in about 18 months. I have it taped on with electrical tape. I'm hoping it will have to come off around mid October, though!
