I've been bad about stretching routinely, core work, and rolling. Going to make a point to do them every day, even if only 10 min!

Turning 60 in April, and after back surgery and now arthritis I am no stranger to pretty much constant pain, so I just ignore it and chalk it up to the dues that I am paying for athletics since 3rd grade.  Swimming and cycling great, but the running is absolute murder, finishing with bleeding toes by the end of any distance....no pain, no real workout.

Fuel appropriately before a workout.

Always re-fuel appropriately after a workout (each one - even if there are several in a day).

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.  Then re-hydrate as needed.

Perhaps most importantly - SLEEP.  This is one that truly can minimize aches and allows the body to recover (not just the brain/mind, but physiologically - the hormonal milieu won't be right without sleep, and that'll make you feel like poop).

These seem to be consistently needed across all people.

And for the record, the dog/cat cartoon is awesome.  We now have 2 dogs, a rodent, a half dozen frogs and eleventy-three-gagillion kinds of fish in the house - but we never did replace our three cats.  They poop in a box…  It's the only pet request from the kids that gets NO consideration.  Tongue out

50 in a few months -just going to echo what others have said

SLEEP!  Naps!

Hydrate!  I too keep a big water glass by the bed and I usually consume at least 16oz during the night

Rest days

Multi vitamin + D, magnesium, calcium, probiotic

Plant based diet - avoid all fruit juices, sodas.  I just drink water / lots of tea / some coffee, alcohol

Attention to detail.  I try not to be as carefree about where I'm running (only thing I'm doing right now) so I won't get injured, knowing recovery is not as quick as it once was.

Stretching wherever I can-I don't dedicate a prescribed time or set of exercises, but at work or anytime, I will throw in 5 mins of stretching
