Interesting occurrence at yesterdays Noosa tri, a sea snake popped out of the water just in front of Emma Moffatt as she got ready to start her swim!

Thanks for all the support you have given me over the past few years. I thought about ya'll a lot while I was out there. I'll get a RR done later this week.

Congrats on your race, David! I would be done if I saw a snake in the water.

Congrats David!

I have been out of pocket lately. It seems like I missed some good things. I am doing a half this weekend. I would like to go sub 2 but not sure how that will go. My pace has been under 10 min/mile the last few times I ran. I did the calculator and it says i need to be about 9 min pace to break 2 I hope I am not by myself and can get in a pace group if they have those. This will only be my first Half besides the run in the 70.3 so should be faster than Augusta.

Don't rely on pace groups Mike, once I joined a 1:40 pacer for a half and he seemed very slow, after a few minutes someone asked what his plan was and it turned out he thought he was the 1:55 pacer and quickly raced off trying to make up time! Another time the pacer suddenly had to make a toilet stop and we never saw her again!

I personally think you had a bad pacer.  Not all pace groups are awful!

Mike, you need to have trained to run at a 9:00 pace.  You can't expect that the pace group will allow you to pull that off.    They can be really good at keeping you honest and usually pace to terrain (at least the good ones do).

First Half in the books! 2:03:08. Not the sub 2 due to pain in my Achilles tendon. Race report is done.

I hope everyone is having a good Veterans Day weekend.

Well done Mike! Good result, are you targeting another half marathon this Winter? I've been challenged to do a few in the next few months to keep a friend company whilst she builds her running for a HIM. I find building to a Long run run of over 22 km's is helpful plus a long tempo run. I'm hoping to break 1:40 so it going to be tough!

Hi All,

Just checking in. Been in Kona for 4 days now. Ran a few miles yesterday. Swam part of the IM course today. Biking up North tomorrow. Paddle boarding Monday, the 70.3 swim start at Haupuna Beach on Tuesday...life is good. Nothing like a nice sunny vacation to get the motivation back. Forcing myself to do my Ab challenge everyday. Cant have a beverage until it is done, lots of motivation there. Did sign up for a 1/2 marathon in January, 70.3 in August, my first marathon in October, (twin cities), and volunteer for IM AZ in November so I can do 2015.Not sure what I am thinking but the seed was planted after Canada. Hope everyone is training happy!!
