Subject: Giro Challenge???

Anyone up for a Giro Challenge?  Initial thought is try to ride every day they race.   Minimum distance per day is 10% of what they are racing in Italy.  Thus today's 130km stage (80 miles) would require a minimum ride of 8 miles.  Consistency in May!!!

Any Takers?

I'd do it (already did tonight to the sweet sweet song of Stage One ...). I don't log by distance, although I can do a rough conversion. I've been following the spring classics and will be following the three big tours too! Love riding to them.

I found a site where the stages and distances are listed.

Well, I was almost all set to run one errand, come back home and get the bike and do a library trip to get my stage miles and as I am backing out of the garage, I am looking at the back wall.  Wait a minute, why am I looking at the back wall,  BJ is up at outdoor lab for the week and I am backing out of the garage, why are our bikes not hanging there???  so, I run the errand and come back home.  I run into the complex security guard and mention that to him. Fortunately, he found one bike in another part of the complex, so BJ's bike is back, but the 29er I bought last year is no where to be seen.

All that to say, I was too distracted to try and get out and do 15 or so miles last night.  Filed a report last night and fortunately, the receipt from the bike shop did have the serial number on it.  Hopefully something turns up.  If not, my last ride on it was fitting in Stage 1 before my wife and the girls went to a "Secret Keeper Girls" conference.

Also, with that gone, not sure how committed I will be over the next couple of weeks.  If it is not returned, got to figure out what the right thing to do is.  (And the race I registered for is Off Road, so my only remaining bike is definitely a NO GO for that)

Sorry, I guess I just needed to ramble a little bit.

Looking at those stages and conversions (Thanks Kate) it could probably get through those on the trainer (as much as I usually try to avoid that) and it would help with the idea of not getting too far away from home.

May have to ramp up again tomorrow and double up on off days/ TT days to make up for a couple of missed stages.
