Subject: Pedal advice
I currently have Shimano 540's and am looking at getting some new pedals. I went for the cheapest I could find and am now looking to upgrade.
I have some issues with knees and have hurt my knee getting out of my current pedals on occasions.
I was looking at Speedplay zero's because of the knee issues, but I am worried I would be too light for them (52kg, 115Ib), and I have seen that the light actions are not recommended for racing.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Look (pedals) were recently recommended to me and I bought them. Really happy with them. Lots of different types that should suit your needs.

Bashbar and performance have look compatible pedals. They are basically the same for a fraction of the cost. If your worries about the amount of float, then you could buy the look cleat with the greatest amount of float.

I use the Speedplay Light Actions and saw they were not meant for racing too, but since I don't consider myself a Tour d' France type of rider, I bought them anyway and love them!  Lots of play from side to side and really easy to clip in and out of... got mine for $114 I think from LBS, you can probably find them cheaper on Ebay....

I started riding this spring with the Carnac shoes on Look pedals (with plenty of float). About five minutes into a ride I get sharp pain on the outer edge of my feet, just behind the pedal.
