when I click on the link to someone's race report in their log, it just takes me to the forum head page...

I've seen that to, my guess is that they haven't yet made their race report public.

Try mine from last Sunday.

Bear is correct.  Regardless something changed as to how that works a few months ago, I will make a note to just eliminate the link until the report is filled out to not cause confusion.
