Total Time = 1h 47m 59s
Overall Rank = 4683/7944
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 274/584
Pre-race routine:

Very early departure to the race so just got up, dressed and left. I ate a Peanut Butter sandwich on the bus.
Event warmup:

Walked to the expo, grabbed the bib and ran.
Run
  • 1h 47m 59s
  • 16.09 kms
  • 06m 42s  min/km
Comments:

We were late as we got stuck at the boarder. We all ended up jumping in on the very last wave which were the walkers so there was a little bit of weaving around. I tried to practice running and drinking through the water stops by pinching the cup (something I saw when i was watching an Ironman on tv).
What would you do differently?:

Run a little faster. This is the third year I have done this race and it is getting easier. I felt really good at the end.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked, popcycle, stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Push myself harder to go faster.

I'm curious about the 'don't increase your run by more than 10% per week' rule. Is there a minimum mileage under which this doesn't apply?

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.

How should I go about training for the marathon while also building base in the other two events? Doing this seems like it's causing me to break the 10% rule in running.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.

Yes, the Dual is a little heavier than Cervèlo’s high end counterparts. But…the price is within reach of the masses and it still incorporates all of the design features that make a Cervèlo special.
