Comments:

It was raining so hard that the oil from all of the motor boats was pooling on top of the water. That was the only down side to this swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

Long run up hill into transition but not sure if they stopped the clock somewhere here. There is no way I made it up the hill in 2 minutes let alone wetsuit off etc in the pouring rain.

What would you do differently?:

Have a better talk with mother nature!

Event comments:

few things both ways
negative: none of the volunteers at packet pick up seemed to know answers to questions
other participants in your age group werent posted so you had no idea how many people you were competing against
the dells could be fun but for us it was like las vegas for kids! the directions into the parking were very unclear and there were no signs on the street as you passed it. Literally not one REV3 sign! spent tons of time wandering and driving
on saturday we went to the swim start and there was not one single volunteer to give us an idea of how the tt start worked, where it started or how the layout was
the bike course is open to traffic literally OPEN TO TRAFFIC
positives: nice hat in the swag bag
the bike racking was different, no metal tent frames instead they used wooden slats so your bike stood up which had your name on which was cool
courses were well marked
finish line was super cool!
shirts were long sleeve tshirts which was a nice change
overall it was organized I likely would not do it again just because of the location

I was in the moment, living a dream and on top of the whole world! Honestly, I wish everyone could experience that feeling because it truly cannot be described.

If you would have told me that I would want to train over ten hours a week for a race that can last up to 17 hours, I would have laughed. But somehow, my ACL injury has refocused my outlook on life.

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?
