Right after IM Chattanooga registration, a FB group for the race started up. One of the members of the group, kind of on a whim, thought it might be interesting to start a group for the single members, called Ironman Singles (duh). Well, it's taken off pretty well. There are a little over 100 people in the group now, from all over the country, and last week the first official couple came out of it, which was pretty cool to see. If you're interested, feel free to send me a message here, or just look me up on Facebook (Jamie Roszel), or just search for the group on Facebook.

Oh, and it's not just IM Chattanooga folks, or even just IM athletes. It's just a place where the person you're talking to might be able to relate to what triathlon training is like.

This is a funny post.

As I was sitting (alone) at the athlete dinner the night before Ironman Wisconsin I was thinking...."there are almost 3000 people in this race, there has to be at least a few women here that are single like me". I was thinking it would be a great idea if at each IM there was a singles mixer. You know that they would all be into triathlon and you wouldn't have to explain why you need to go out all day Saturday for a 6 hour bike followed by a 2 hour run. They would be in great shape, have nice shaved legs and you would be guaranteed to have at least have one thing in common.

I am off to check out this Facebook group.

Yep, I think that's what we were all thinking, as well. Someone has even suggested an online speed dating session in which everyone is on their trainer. That should be interesting!

No rules that have been established yet! It's mainly just a place for triathletes without a SO to talk to like-minded people.

For most age-group triathletes, getting the most out of there time for quality workouts can be daunting. Think outside the triangle to get a little more.

You’re probably not going to get it just right immediately. Like always, just do the best you can and keep on keeping on. Don’t get upset if you don’t hit the target every time.
