You might check in the Kansas forum. There is a thread in there about group rides on the course. Also, there is a facebook group for Ironman kansas 70.3. I think there are two big groups heading out. One friday morning and one saturday morning. Not BTers, but riding with a group is safer than not.

Thank you, Jon!

I noticed it says bike check-in on Saturday is optional. I know last year even though it was mandatory check in on Saturday, they let us wait till Sunday because of overnight thunderstorms. I think I'll probably wait till Sunday morning.

If you didn't see/get the email. The race is back to a 2 transition race. If you've this race in the past, everything will be the same as it was in previous years.

On a separate note, the weather is looking awesome. I won't rejoice, officially, until race day.

I saw that email and read the two transition part and was curious if that was right or not since the last run map I looked at had the T2 the same as T1. But the map now has the same course as last year, although the mile markers look off. I'd prefer it to be a two transition race personally, at least for thsi course.

I'm also glad about the forecast. I won't rejoice yet either but it's nice hoping a forecast stays the same rather than hoping it changes.

Has anyone found official clarification on whether or not the bike check-in is mandatory on Saturday? I have no idea who proofreads these race guides but they should be fired. The same paragraph says it is both mandatory and optional. Any 3rd graders want to take over IronMan document editing duties and improve them?
