Event warmup:

Lots of pre planing because it was a point to point race. Double and triple checked myself about 16 times. Set up was flawless though. everything turned out perfect fot the race.
Swim

  • 547 yards
  • 03m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

I can't even tell you how horrible this swim was. I am so embarrassed. I don't know what the deal was, but I am going to be doing a LOT of time in the pool to fix this.
What would you do differently?:

Freakin' Everything!
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

Well... appaerently I had some chip timer issues because I wasn't able to tell what my T1 or my bike time was... Total time for whole T1/Bike time was 51:05, so I would have to say my T1 time was about 1 minute to a minute and a half. Not much time at all. Everything worked out well.. Especially having my glasses rubberbanded to my bike, and my gloves on my bike.
What would you do differently?:

No complaints really. My Transition times are really coming along, and I think I am ready to take it to the next level. Shoes already clipped in!
Bike
  • 49m 45s
  • 16.8 miles
  • 20.26 mile/hr
Comments:

4th possibly 3rd depending on how my T1 time actually was... The bottom line is that all those Biking hours I put in in the last month really paid off. 350 miles and my bike split probabaly went up about 6 spots. NICE.

My bike was alomst flawless. I still need work on my hills, but overall I was focused, in control, and reeling in everything I saw. I made up increidble time on the bike and am VERY proud of how i did... BOOYA!
What would you do differently?:

Gotta put my Gel pack somewhere else... I think i will get one of those packs that set in the front. I lost my GU about 2 min. before I was going to get it.. DARN IT!

Work on those hills and you're going to be dangerous Kevin.
Transition 2
  • 01m 28s
Comments:

It was not very good at all LOL. Lots of errors and poor executiton. THe only highlight of my transiton was my shoe release.. Was able to ride the tops flawlessly.
What would you do differently?:

practice more. I need this to be a routine everytime I get on the bike... Dismout like I am in a race.
Run
  • 28m 52s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 46s  min/km
Comments:

Run was tough... Legs are STILL cramping up when I run... Not making much impropvement on the rung leg of my tri's... Need to fix that. A 5 min. difference on my straight run - tri leg run is unacceptable.
What would you do differently?:

More runs after the bike.. I have got to get my legs used to the pounding

Hey,
Great race. Sorry to hear about the time chip malfunction. It makes you want to chuck computers and stuff out the window.
Swimming...it's tough. I won't argue there. I have found the more I practice the better. Somedays it is harder than all get out but then after practicing it just gets easier. Just keep it up. Maybe join a Master's swim team. They are suppose to help lots. But good luck! Keep up the hard work!
