Bacon and Eggs for breakfast about 4 hrs before the race, banana about 1 hr before

Comments:

Good, steady pace, around 8'/km issues with HR at the end but this may have been due to a caffienated gel. Some hip pain after about 5 miles
What would you do differently?:

Not have the gel!! Nothing different in the race but

Warm down:

Trying to get heart rate down, shower and limited stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight, hip pain, heart rate.

Event comments:

Good race, especially as a start for the year.

I can't say it enough, the feeling of treading water for that final minute, helicopters over head, Mike Riley's Iron-voice over the P.A. - just awesome. I cannot believe I'm here!
