Sunny
Total Time = 1h 36m 53s
Overall Rank = 112/192
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

1/2 Powerbar, coffee

Up at 5:00am, got everything loaded up in the van, drove to the race, got race packet, set up transition area, used restroom.
Event warmup:

Ran for 5 min on treadmill at an easy pace before leaving the house. Stretched and walked around at the race.
Swim
  • 21m 29s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 52s / 100 meters
Comments:

This swim was better than the last! I remembered to put my goggles on first. I wasn't panicky this time which help me in the first 200 meter. I did rub up against people but it was not anything aggressive. (I didn't get kicked in the face this time!)
What would you do differently?:

Try to swim faster. I am very slow compared to the other racers.
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

My wetsuit got caught on my watch and a little on my heels(timing chip). I really felt better this time running up the hill to the transition area. I ate a powergel and drank. I still do not have clipless pedals. Biked in my running shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Not eat a powergel. (it caused a stomach cramp on the run segment) Practice transitioning, see if I can get the time down a bit.
Bike
  • 43m 6s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 17.26 mile/hr
Comments:

I feel like I picked up the pace a bit on the bike. There was another lady that biked about the same as I did. She would pass me on the hills and I would pass her on the flats. It really helped me to push myself.
What would you do differently?:

Pretty happy with my bike, just practice more hills.
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

My shoe came untied the last mile or two of the bike so I waited to tie it in the transition area.
Run
  • 28m 52s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

I got a stomach cramp pretty bad, I believe it was because I ate a powergel. I had to slow my pace and run through it. It did get better toward the end and I could pick up the pace.
What would you do differently?:

I could have ran faster. I didn't give 100%.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking around

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Stomach cramp.

Event comments:

HFP puts on great races!! I always enjoy myself and they are very well organized! I am glad I finished my 2nd Tri!
