World Triathlon Corporation

Total Time = 6h 54m 40s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = F40-44
Age Group Rank = 0/
  • 39m 12s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 52s / 100 yards

Toughest open water swim to date. Water was freezing cold & chop was tough.
Transition 1
  • 05m 59s
  • 3h 15m 29s
  • 56 miles
  • 17.19 mile/hr

There were 31 turns on this course. 31! On a 56 mile course...Bad. The roads were terrible. The weather was perfect though, beautiful day.
Transition 2
  • 06m 24s
  • 2h 47m 36s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 12m 47s  min/mile

Finally felt my left foot (frozen from the swim) at mile 3. I was out of energy and didn't seem to care at this point. Ran/Walked the rest of the way, talked to people and tried to enjoy myself.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The super cold water.

Event comments:

The volunteers and spectators are amazing on this course, which kind of helps to hide the fact that the course really isn't that great.

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

I thought of all the times I didn’t attempt something I wanted to do because I was too afraid of trying something new or of failing completely.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.

A bad race left me smoldering, but time and a gentle breeze ignited my passion to race again.
