Swim
Comments: Swam hard out the gate, and stayed hard until 3/4 way out, then had to navigate a little but was ahead of most in our wave and just staring to catch wave ahead of us. Had to sight turn buoy, I drifted left as always but had a strong push around the turn and swam over about 4 people to get there. But finished with a PR time What would you do differently?: Sight a little better and stay a little closer to the center line, but overall very pleased Transition 1
Comments: Knee brace got stuck 2x, but recovered quickly, It was alonger run to the bikes thru transition than before, then running out and up first hill to help out on bike. When I jumped on my foot missed the pedal and had to recover. What would you do differently?: wish that my knees were fin3e and did not have to worry about brace but cannot complain Bike
Comments: Really enjoyed this ride, It had a good mix for strength, endurance and technical aspects. I did find out having a mouth guard made for an easier time for getting the Hammer gel into my mouth. It is nice to get the extra burst of energy and it is good practice for the eventual IM. What would you do differently?: When jumping onto the bike- DONT MISS THE PEDAL!! When riding - Dont lose track of gears When racing - NEVER GO WITHOUT AERO BARS AGAIN!!! It was the first race with the bars and they definitely paid off Transition 2
Comments: Did not jump off moving bike because of knees and grassy slope at dismount mark- have to be careful not to blow the knee. But did stop on a dime at dismount line and hop off quickly. What would you do differently?: Nothing - ran, racked, rip off helmet and gloves, RUN LIKE A HOBBLED BEAR! Run
Comments: PR again - Typically running 9 min miles plus. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! 8.71 min/mile!!!!!!!! Unreal for me. But then again, I hurt now!! Almost puked 2x and felt drained at end but I has two other division racers just ahead of me the entire run. They never were over 100 yards ahead and I just wanted to stay with them to the finish. I thought I was too far out at a mile to go, but slowly crept up and caught them in the last quarter and at the finish. I crosse only 3 secs ahead of them What would you do differently?: Nothing except hope and pray for better knees Post race
Warm down: Walked and walked, and packed the goodies and drank and ate, and talked and tried not to fall down. What limited your ability to perform faster: once again and as always my KNEES! Event comments: Great Race and well organized looking forward to doing it again. Gotta go need ice NOW!!! Last updated: 2006-07-31 12:00 AM

Wokie Early and went with the ever popular POPTART b-fast, works every time. Threw in a little pickle juice to prevent cramping, worked again. Set up both tracnsitions, first time with two , but definitely was fun. And pulled the usual toilet stop and lookin around
None, I just jump in and go!!
