California International Marathon : Official Thread

I'm giving it another try. Last year was my first time and I ended up coming down with the flu race week.

Hopefully we'll have good weather this year. Last year was really cold, and the year before that was like running in a hurricane.

I'm in. I haven't run a standalone marathon for a couple of years now, so this ought to be fun! Looking to BQ and if the weather cooperates, this is a good course to do it on!

Elena, good to be back in a training thread with you! After the Vineman 70.3 last year I decide to do the full this year. All went well until the run when the temps passed 90 degrees. That was the longest run I have ever done. I wasn't in pain or anything, just had the energy sucked right out of me. I'm probably going to do the full again next year - you ought to join me for that one!

This will be my 5th CIM. Totally not motivated for it. I'm an ultra runner that started doing the tri thing in April and fell in love. I'm not looking forward to the long, long runs again.

Yes, hoping for much better weather than the last two years. Three years ago it was actually a little too warm for me.
