I have been told to do Ironman Augusta 70.3 over Ironman 70.3 Florida for my first 70.3. First question-what are your thoughts? I live in Florida and was told worth the little travel to Augusta. Second Question is does Augusta sell out quick or do you have some time after registration opens to decide? I know Florida you have some time to decide.

IM 70.3 Augusta sells out fairly quickly but you should have enough time to get in. I think it took until late spring this year for the deal to sell out and figure that's probably typical. Not so crazy like other races which sell out within minutes of opening. So you should be able to get in for 2015 after this years race, without being up and ready to sign up at the stroke of midnight or whatever. I think I signed up in early January this year.

This is my first 70.3 and I picked Augusta because the swim is wetsuit legal and runs downstream. The bike is rolling hills but doable. The run is basically flat. So it looks like a good first race.

Augusta is a great race. Loved every bit of it. Great fan support, volunteers and scenery. My wife did take a picture of alligator in the river.

everyone loves a downhill swim which is why Augusta is popular.  i read somewhere that someone threw a log in the river and it made the cut off time with plenty of time to spare.

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
