Pre-race routine:

Don't have a routine, this was my first tri!

Got to venue VERY early, but it was good because I walked around and familiarized myself with the event and transition areas.
Event warmup:

Swam a few lengths of a small pool. Probably should have done more.

lots of people walking in the water Didn't like that much, but probably only because they were faster than me!
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster, practice flip turns more so I could use them in the shallow water.
Transition 1

Slow and I really needed someplace to sit. Rolled socks were a really good idea.
What would you do differently?:

Be faster. Have my helmet on the ground, not hooked on my bike handles.

Bike felt pretty good! my overall mph was faster than I've ever done
What would you do differently?:

drink more, have gu earlier than I did because it felt yucky on the run

slow--had to change socks after bike because they were sopping wet

have my transition area laid out better

Death crawl is more like it. Used 3:30:1 run:walk method. Worked pretty well, but did end up throwing a couple of extra walk segments in on the first mile--legs were like jelly!
What would you do differently?:

Have more water at end of bike to help hydrate until first water station.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of run training

Event comments:

Great race for first timers. Lots of experienced folks around willing to help and provide advice (when asked for it). Spectators were great, with lots of cheering.
