Comments:

1st loop was great with the exception of a flat! 2nd loop?????? At mile 11, broke my chain and trashed my rear derailluer. Started walking, running, hiking for the next 15 miles. A guy gave me a quick link and I tried making my bike a single speed but........the quick link was for a 10 speed. I have a......9 speed! So i kept trucking with a run 5min and walk 5 min strategy. Rained on me in buckets for about 30min 2 different times. When I got back to the turn off, it was about 4:02pm. The cutoff was @ 4! But due to a bad wreck that delayed the race for 35min, they extended the cutoff!!!!!!!!!!! My partner's(4agoodlife) husband(jclarke450) seen me FINALLY coming in to the barn and ran out to tell me! It was like taking a huge weight off me and let me know the grind was worth every challenging second!!!!!!!!! I so did not want to face Erin after missing the cut off!!!! So then Erin takes off and wrecks and breaks her 2 front teeth and still kicked my but doing a 2hr30min loop!!!!! We finished with 2 minutes to spare before the race cutoff was called! Yes, we got a DFL, but finishing facing the challenges we faced through out the day was victory in itself!!! We would not be denied!!! Can't wait til next year! This race REALLY poked me in the chest and I won't allow it. Gonna sign up for the solo next year and do the 104 miles! It will be a challenging year and I'm looking forward to it!
What would you do differently?:

Not a D(*& thing!

You and Erin make a heck of a team!!  Congrats on an epic race (to borrow Erin's word for it).  I'm betting neither of you is going to forget this one anytime soon!
