Subject: RE: Broken Tib/Fib (titanium rod surgery) The only long term pain or discomfort is:
With the tibial nail, I noticed when I run, the leg doesn't flex they way the other leg does. It's microscopic, but I can feel it.
That said, I do at least 2 marathons every year plus a number of 70.3 and 1/2 mary. There is no pain and I'm good.
That said, this past Tuesday was "hardware removal" day. I had a clavicle plate holding my clavicle in place while that bone healed. I cam off my bike in July and smashed the hell out of my left side. So they removed the plate and while I was under, I had them remove the screw above my ankle bone.
2 days later, I smell bad and walk fine and my shoulder works. |
