Swim
Comments: The Oly was a deep water start, but the spring started on the beach. There was a lot of contact for about the first 100-yds of this swim. Transition 1
Comments: Some races go the extra mile to establish "fair" trainsitions. This race does not. Some people have much shorter distaces to cover than others, and some people have much shorter "runs" with their bikes than others. For two people handling gear changes at the same speed, there could easily be a 1 to 2 minute difference in their combined transition times depending on where they were racked at. No much of an issue for me, but people fighting for a podium spot could get a little frazzled by this. Bike
Comments: I thought this was a good ride for me. Have not been riding the tri bike much, so I did sit up a few times, mostly when drinking or when slowing down for a corner. Was able to ride in the 24+ speed range for the bulk of the ride. Lots of passing with the Oly participants ou on the course. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Tough run........hot but not too hot. A lot slower than potential. Post race

Saturday Packet Pick-up. Got up early on Monday and drove over to Cypress.
If you do the sprint race, be prepared for a long wait in the morning. Transition closes a few minutes before the start of the Oly race, which means there is a LONG wait from the close of transition to the start of the sprint waves.
I did get in the water and swim a few yards before the strt of the Oly. This was probably 1-1/2 hours beofre my wave started.
