Good morning BT!

4:15am:  3 mile easy run

4:45am:  40 mins plyo strength + core

Spent some time with the foam roller this morning...hurts so good!  :-)

Have a great day all!

Hot Runner--yesterday morning was both--a bit of sleeping in, a bit of waiting for the warm.  It is waaay unseasonably cold here right now!

I hear ya on the cold...been freeding (AZ style) all morning.

Woke up at 3 to drive down to Tempe to line up for volunteer registration for IMAZ. Standing around for 2 hours in 40 degrees. Should have dressed warmer and brought my blanket - was shivering so bad by the time I got into the tent that I could barely work the iPad.
But...I'm registered - OMG!

Ran 6 miles after to warm up and then swam for 1 hour. Thank goodness the water was warm! AFter a hot shower I finally thawed out!

I love the cold and cherish every day of it here in AZ, but just not used to it - blood has thinned too much to survive the heat!

Happy Training all!

Busy day which is providing some great recovery time.

I did manage to get out for a very nice run for a late lunch. I ran down to state beach from the trail head and went for an easy ocean swim before heading back. (8 Mile Run, 1000 Meter Swim)

Legs are feeling awesome after yesterday's hard effort at the race. I think what helped is that after I finished, I circled back on the course until I found my friend and paced him in. It was his first half marathon and he did awesome. He was almost 16 minutes under his planned finish time :D

I am tickled with the race and was able to tick off a long term race goal of mine.

9 more weeks to go until Carlsbad :D

Congratulations on signing up for IMAZ.

I personally liked the course mostly because I love the desert. Riding out toward Fountain Hills was definitely the highlight of the day.

Enjoy your training

Woke up to snow on the ground....I am not ready for winter! Easy swim for lunch and then a 1hr recovery ride on the trainer for dinner.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
