Total Time = 58m 27s
Overall Rank = 351/3411
Age Group = M 45-49
Age Group Rank = 29/218
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 6:20am, and had a banana and a bagel with peanut butter. Left the house a little past 7am and was parked at the office parking garage by 7:45am. Used the restroom at the office (and it was also nice and warm there).
Event warmup:

Jogged to check out how far we were from the corral's and it was just 2-3 blocks so ran back to the car, then ran back in. Was wearing cap, triathlon kit, arm warmers, gloves. Also had a plastic bag to cut down on wind and warm-up for first couple of miles. Had a long sleeve cotton t-shirt (the official turkey trot shirt but didn't look like I would use it) that I got rid of just minutes prior to start. Had a gel 15 minutes before the start.

Comments:

Didn't do a full taper for this run so thought I would start out around half-marathon target pace (around 7:25 or so) and then ramp it up after 4 miles. Legs were a bit heavy and couldn't get the right cadence going the first 2 miles or so, but finally warmed up and start feeling much better. Ramped it up after 3.5 miles, then went a little harder at 6-mile mark just as planned. Was close to around 7:05/mile with 1.5 miles to go. Could have started that about another mile earlier.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Given that this is a C race, only thing I could ask for is to be better trained. Need to focus on getting more speed. My PR at 15K is right around 7:00/mile in similar conditions and I had potential to be closer to that. Probably should have had the confidence to start going closer to 2.5 miles away.
Post race
Warm down:

Not much, just had a couple of bananas and 2 bottled waters. Got to the car and took a recovery shake and put on warmer clothes

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training

Event comments:

Good race and nice way to kick of Thanksgiving Holiday!
