Veteran 244 London, England | Subject: Ironman 70.3 Muncie : Official Thread Did I read this right that RED BULL is the drink that will be served during the race?? I've been away from tri for about 1.5 years and this is my first race back...has Ironman Corp really sold out THAT much? Planning for a 5% DNF due to heart attack? Hoping I read this wrong on the race website - can anyone shed some light? Thanks, Nate |

Extreme Veteran 1986 Cypress, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Muncie : Official Thread Gatorade Endurance replaced Powerbar Perform as the sports drink that will be served at IM races for the next however many contracted years. Red Bull is basically going to be the official energy drink as an alternative to cola. It's is not the main drink served on course. |

Member 37 | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Muncie : Official Thread Hi All, This is my first HIM and I have a couple of questions about the logistics of the race. 1. Is the parking lots for athlete near transition area? 2. Are the water bottles provided at the Aid stations on the bike course cold or warm? It's probably going to be a hot day out there and getting a nice cold water bottle would be more refreshing 3. Swim warm up area?...I think I've read in others race reports that they were able to so some warm up swimming before the event...yes/no? 4. Anyone know a website that keeps track of the water temps? I know usually its not wetsuit legal but last year it was and while we had a few weeks of hot weather it has since cooled off so I wanted to keep track of what are the water temps. I've tried finding websites thru google but many don't have a current water temperature. Thanks all and good luck to everyone participating! Lisa Edited by lamj77 2015-06-30 8:41 AM |

Yes, parking lot is in a grassy field near the race start. The earlier you get there, the less of a walk you'll have to the transition area 2. Yes, nice and cold 3. They allow you to do a swim warm up for some time before the first wave goes off 4. I have no idea, bring your wetsuit just in case |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Muncie : Official Thread Last 2 years at Muncie have been morning decisions on the swim … so bring wetsuit and speed suit if you have it. They will start giving waters temps next week unless you are on a FB site of local people letting you know. Assume no wetsuit since temps are upper 70's lately, but practice the longs swim without. |
