Pre-race routine:

We did our packet pickup then headed out to the start line. With so many people at this race we weren't so sure how long it would take us to get to our areas. This is the first time my mom, my son, and myself have all raced together, and it was my mom's very first race as well. I went onto this is the goal of having fun and enjoying racing with three generations.
Event warmup:

Walked around a bit. Was wearing warmer clothes so not much else was needed.
Run
  • 42m 10s
  • 3.1 miles

Comments:

This was a great race!!! My mom and I power walked the whole way without stopping or slowing down. This was my mom's first race and I had a marathon in the morning so our pace was just right. My seven year old son kept ahead of us at an easy run. At on point he got lost in the crowd but we quickly got a visual back on him. We hit the half way mark and got some water without slowing our stride. The finish was in the stadium at the 50 yard line. At the 20 yard line we did one final burst and ran across the mats with huge smiles on everyone's faces. What fun!!!!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing this was a fun and easy event for me and I enjoyed it.
Post race
Warm down:

Got our medals and headed out o the stadium. On our way out I stopped at the local radio booth and did an interview with one of the reporters about my running past and future.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing, was happy with my pace.

Event comments:

Hope to race with my son and mom again!
