Good run. I was hurting a little toward the end as usual. I was humbled that an 8 year old girl passed me at the end beating me by 20 seconds or so.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Consider for early next year to start adding training with intervals and tempo workouts to get my speed up.

Event comments:

The race is well run. This is the first Golden Arches run and I think they should keep doing it.

I recently just ran a 5 mile race, and in the last 100 meters I was sprinting to pass someone and I felt a "pop" in my left arch. Could I have strained it? What is your advice for healing?

At about the 1/2 mile mark my left soleus becomes extremely tight and painful. The pain then progresses into my left arch and then into my left knee.

The bottom of my feet, more specifically the arches, have been sore off an on for a couple of weeks. Should I be worried? Anything I should do to prevent this?

First, with your upcoming 5K, I strongly advise you to check out the “Couch to 5K” training schedule. This training schedule is a GREAT way to get back into running safely and wisely.
