  • 10 miles
  • 15m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

349/357 overall, 20/20 AG, 200/205 gender, 324/330 division (?).
Finished ahead of the three DNS in my age group. Woohoo!
Did not push myself. This is the furthest I've ever run and my longest run since Bloomsday (7.5 miles), so I tried to take it easy and pace myself. I hurt pretty bad, but I stayed on my feet and kept going. I had a lot of trouble clearing the ground with both feet. It seems the lack of training--and particularly, bike riding--in the past few weeks negatively impacted the range of motion in both knees. I really need more bike riding to work on that range of motion.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe also take some Ibuprofen.
Post race
Warm down:

Had a Ben & Jerry's ice cream sundae and then drove home after stopping for lunch. When I got home, I laid down and rested my legs for an hour, got up, took a shower, and then drove back to Spokane for the Five Finger Death Punch Concert.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just didn't feel up to par. Both feet kept scraping the ground; I really had to struggle to lift my knees high enough for my feet to clear the ground. The lack of training in the past few weeks was pretty evident, IMHO.

Event comments:

Who wouldn't run ten miles for a Ben & Jerry's ice cream sundae?

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
