Pre-race routine:

Worked 12 hour night shift before race. got off at 7:30 am and went home. Had to wait until 11am for race start. I did not want to take a nap. I figured once I hit the pillow it would be over.
Event warmup:

Did a few pick ups

Comments:

It was a very nice warm day but extremely windy. 20-30mph gusts off the bay. 20 mph sustained winds. I felt defeated as I was checking my pace. I felt like there was always a head wind after the first mile. I crossed the finish line disappointed and exhausted from no sleep. I guess the rest of the field struggled also. I could not believe I won my age group.
What would you do differently?:

Sleep, drop some holiday weight. I am about 15 lbs heavy from August after IMLP.
Post race
Warm down:

Waited for wife. She also won her AG

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sleep

Event comments:

3rd time I did this race. Always fun. Lots of activities but they never announce the AG winners. Very Strange. Just stand in line and pick up your medal. Will be back next year.
