For all you triathletes and beginners from the Midwest / Upper Midwest, there's a great tri at Hudson WI. I talked with the race director and about 25% of the participants are first timers. They also have a great spread with an annual Hog Roast after the race. This will be my last event for this season. To give something back, I'm going to do the clinic and help officiate the Wisconsin Ironman - lots of regions need officials - plus this is a way to get inspired for the long range goal of doing an ironman. (Or not?)

Thanks for posting that Malvey, maybe I'll make it up there. After racing the last 2 weekends I have a big tri hangover and the whole family needs some down time. We're on vacation most of August, though, so early September might be just the ticket. Way to go with the volunteering! I need to do some of that.
