Subject: 2008 Soloist Dura Ace or 2009 P2C Ultegra A couple of years ago when I started doing triathlon's, Sprint only, i purchased a very good used road bike, the 2008 Cervelo Soloist with Dura Ace components. Not too long ago I bought a T3+ Carbon Aero Bar clip ons. Over the past year I've been looking to upgrade and be a little bit more competitive with a Quintana Roo. However the cheapest basic set for a Kilo runs about $1600, more than I want to spend. So I've been hunting and have found a Cervelo P2C with Ultegra components and barely used.
With that said, I know I would be taking a step down in the components, however I would be going a step up on aero dynamic positioning, and a bit newer bike. So I'm asking would it be better to upgrade the seat post and angle on my soloist or go for the slightly newer p2c with aero bars. FYI the p2C I would be getting with some upgraded carbon aero bars, crank and handlebars, however i'm not sure that lightweight would outweigh the upgraded components. Thoughts?
