Subject: HRM Question I am currently using a garmin premium HRM with a forerunner 910xt. I went out for a short run this morning (2.5m ) and I am not sure if my numbers are reading correctly or maybe I am just not understanding how they are calculated (both on the forerunner itself and on training peaks ). For the first mile I know that I never even broke 140bpm yet training peaks is showing that my average was 137 bpm with a max of 169? So the average makes sense, but I don't get the max. For the second mile I know I was around my target rate of 144-148 bpm (as I was looking at my watch throughout the mile ), but training peaks is showing an average of 169 and a max of 177 bpm. Not getting why its so high. Then the third lap (which was the last .5m ) shows an average of 178 and a max of 186. Now I picked up my pace in the last 100m but I really don't think my HR would get that high from a slight increase in pace.
Any thoughts? Am I just not understanding this stuff? |
