Name: Tanna Age: 23 Hometown: Houston (Cypress) City\Town: Austin Favorite Training Places: running: Town Lake Trail, barton creek greenbelt biking: South Mopac 8 mile loop, 360 & Bee Caves Rd....LOTS of hills!! swimming: the neighborhood pool, The Quarry @ pure austin gym in N Austin Triathlons Completed: none...yet... I'm doing the Dave Scott on 9/17. It's an oly, I know that's quite an undertaking for a newbie, but I feel good about my training. I will not be competative and I will not be fast (except on the swim, my mile is just under 30 min). But that's okay with me. Current Goals: My goal is to complete the Dave Scott in 3:45 or less. I figure that's a good starting point, especially for a slow runner like me!! This winter, I want to increase my running speed. Right now I average 11-12 min per mile. I'd like to get it to 10 or less. I'm going to do several bikerides and 5-10Ks this winter in preparation for the spring. |

Expert 1274 Houston, TX | Subject: RE: Getting to know you: Texas! Welcome Jeanne, finding time to train is hard for a lot of people. What hours do you work? For me it is really not that tough because my wife is a triathlete also. If you are having a hard time making time to train, you have to remember one thing: quality. A lot of times you can rely on quality training even if you are not getting the quantity that you would like. Do you feel mentally prepared for the race? Are you confident that you can do the distances? Then don't worry about it, just have fun. Stonebridge will be a fun race. There should be a good group of BT'ers there to meet and greet. Good luck in your training and we'll see you on race day! |
