Please remember not to have your kids (or anyone) outside with you when you are mowing or trimming with a weed trimmer. We flew this first grader today with a section of wire (kicked up by a weed trimmer) through her chest, missing her left ventricle by about a centimeter.  Very lucky kid.

Don't forget your safety glasses too.

That's it.

OMGosh ... that's scary! I used to leave the dogs out in their kennel runs when I was mowing/weedeating. One day the mower threw a rock that dented one of the stainless waterbuckets in one of the runs ... from that day forward, I've put them in the house while operating said implements of destruction.

Thanks for the reminder of why it's important to do so!

Ummm..yeah. Quite dangerous.

I always wear pants when operating a weed eater as well, even rocks can do damage. Poor thing.

Can we infer from the 'very lucky' comment that she's going to be ok, in addition to being lucky it missed her left ventricle?

And thanks for the reminder.  Wow.

Hope she recovers....wow.  Thanks for the reminder.  With myself and 3 of my teenagers mowing it can be easy to get careless.
