For the past few years I was the LOUD guy in the morning letting people into the bike area before the swim start and than was all over the place during the course of the day, but this year I have decided to sleep in and just help my son's swim team at one of the water aid stations near UW Hospital (that would be somewhere on the Howard Temin Lakeshore Path, somewhere after mile 4 and  then after mile 8.
Good luck to all you hardworking fellow IM'ers!
YOU WILL ALL BE AN IRONMAN!!

In past years there is no official practice swim but the part of the lake where the race takes place has practice swimmers going pretty much all day long Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning... safest to swim with a friend or a small group

The lake is open for swimming and on Friday they should have some buoys out, at least they did last year.

If you do plan to swim, go early. That lake can get pretty busy and dangerous with boat traffic. There should be plenty of people out swimming (I'll be one of them on Friday).

I never imagined the official IM Moo threads dying in BT.

Times have changed.

Anyways, congratulations to those who became Ironmen and Ironwomen this past Sunday.

I would not restart an old post/thread.  Please create a new one and get the ball rolling.  I'm pretty much done here at BT but do encourage IM WI to continue on and thrive.

GOOD LUCK!

Registed back on 2/1 and am now 9 weeks out with everyone else. Feel great on the run, good on the swim and a little behind on the bike. That hilly 112 is going to be tough so really need to buckle down these next 7 weeks... Good luck everyone!

I'm a fairly good climber but don't want to blow up on the run. I'm 60 and have a FTP of 230 watts. Any suggestions?

Should I remove the PD Jammers bars and ride it as is, set-up for riding in the drops and hoods? Should I run my Easton Orion II wheels or my Hed Jet60 C2's for IMWI?

If you would have told me that I would want to train over ten hours a week for a race that can last up to 17 hours, I would have laughed. But somehow, my ACL injury has refocused my outlook on life.

I was not an official; I simply observed the race and the officials doing their thing. Here is what I saw:

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?

TriLover recently had the opportunity to interview Tim and Nicole. Read what the DeBooms had to say about triathlon, their support for each other and life.
