Subject: 6.22.17 Thursday Training!

Good morning BT! 

Off day for me! Heading into Salt Lake City with my older daughter for some appointments and shopping--some of which will be for her dorm room this fall! Aaah!

Chris, had to laugh at your day off due to chafing--been there--I'm sure we all have in this group!

2 mile run at 0600; focused on keeping my HR "low". I managed to keep it between 155-160. Felt good, even though it was painfully slow!

3.69 mile run (and a little walk) at 6:00 a.m. too - glad to see I wasn't the only one out there suffering. Legs were uber tired after kickboxing and swim the day before. But I made it. The motivator for getting out of bed: run now in 76 degree weather or after work in 92 degree weather.

I've got the same summer-time problem: early am run or super-hot run after work. Beautiful sunrises though!

That's true. And there's also the suburbia wildlife - saw so many bunnies this morning, and that just makes me smile

Morning swim workout and weight training afterwards.

I have a race Saturday and been wondering if this is my last race.

I missed all of 2016 due to injuries. Came back strong (so I thought) and had a injury that set me back a few weeks. Completed two races this year and did pretty good. My left knee started acting up a few weeks ago. It has started to even bother me on the bike. Saw my doctor last week and he said it is Patellar tendinitis but scheduled a MRI for next week since there may be some other issues.

Still running and biking up to the race this week but may take some time off after Saturday. I'm 53 and been racing seven years and wondering if it is time to hang it up. I love training and racing but dang the injuries are frustrating.

I hope it's nothing serious!

11:40 - terrible swim (1,900 yards). Main set of 4 x 100 on 1:20 or stop when miss an interval; 4 x 25 easy; 8 x 100 on 1:30 or until missed interval; 4 x 25 easy. Yeah, I made one each of my fast sets. Pretty demoralizing.

Sorry to hear about the injury issue... I can relate, as I am having a problem with my left knee as well.

I did get out for a 45 km ride this eve on a beautiful sunny evening, but my knee was tightening up and starting to hurt ... I guess ice and ibuprofen are in order
