Subject: IM 70.3: Is it possible to transfer?
Hi All,

Has anyone been able to transfer from one Ironman 70.3 to another in the same year?
I have emailed to ask if I can move to another race later in the season but have yet to hear back..

Just curious!

Thanks

On each of the 70.3 websites, there is an FAQ section and a specific FAQ about transfers. If you follow that trail, you get to the registration page where it says (at least on the two I looked at):

Transfers or deferments are NOT permitted.

So, I wouldn't think so. Unless you purchased the registration protection program and your reason fell within one that was covered.

Just because they say "No transfers, no deferments" doesn't mean they don't.  I was signed up for Steelhead (years ago) and they didn't officially allow deferments, but I was able to defer a year (for a $25 fee) due to a late-breaking illness.

Unlikely for "I changed my mind" or "I didn't get enough training in."

Thanks guys...no transfers.
You can however opt out of the race. You get $75 back. Unfortunately it does not make me want to pay another $300 for a 1/2 if I’ve already paid $225 even after getting my $75 back. Too bad.
