Swim
Comments: 4:10 for 300 yards was actual pool time based on my watch then we had to walk the pool deck and run .1 to transition. i was in the zone swimming wise with a 1:23 per 100 average. i passed 2 people after going off 8th. What would you do differently?: nothing, perfect swim. Transition 1
Comments: https://www.strava.com/activities/1538775292 other than a lot of running nothing to report here What would you do differently?: need more practice reps Bike
Comments: i could have pushed just a bit harder and been more aggressive on the corners. i took a gu at mile 6 with slowed the speed slightly. the dimond performed great and my bike fit only continues to help my performance improve. What would you do differently?: more push and more aggressive Transition 2
Comments: https://www.strava.com/activities/1538775293 What would you do differently?: bike stuff off, running socks and shoes on Run
Comments: negaive split the run which is good for me. i got out on the course as the first athlete but didn't know the course as good as i should and almost ran off course, luckily the signs were on the route, no volunteers. i got water at the aid station at miles 1 and 2 dump 1 cup, drink 1 cup. i saw a runner slowly gaining on me and tried to keep them away as much as possible becuase i though it was rick, the overall winner but it was the guy that won 3rd place. he passed me just prior to the finish line but it didn't matter because i started 50 seconds behind him due to time trial start., What would you do differently?: know the course better Post race
Warm down: didnt due much other than a quick stretch, took a shower and waited for awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: physically held a little back, could have mentally toughed up and pushed a little harder. Event comments: other than my profile being wrong for the race and my 2nd place award stating 3rd place the race was put on very well by ultimate racing. this is a beginner friendly triathlon and i enjoyed heling out several 1st time traithletes. Spent the night at the best western on jacksonville beach which was 15 minutes away from the race start. For dinner had V's pizza which was perfect. went to get a massage and got foot and back done. the lady winked at me as i feel like she fixed the PF in my left foot. went to be at 10:30 and got up at 5:30. put on KT tape on left foot and race numbers and loaded up the for the race. breakfast opened at 0600 so i grabbed a banana, waffle and coffee. took anti-fatigue caps and a gu and drank some sword.
got to the event and verified that the had not switched me from the female category to the male category. then went to my rack and realized that the bikes aorund mine were terrible and that i must have been mis-seeded on the swim. i submitted a 4:30 time but they had me at 10:17 for 300 yards. they were able to fix my umber but not my rack. this only allowed me enough time to get a quick 250 yard swim in before the race started.
